Woollahra Council in partnership with Kincoppal-Rose Bay, Ascham School and The Scots College are offering free computer courses for people over the age of 65.
Participants will learn basic computer skills and programs, including Microsoft Word, e-mail and how to navigate the internet. School students will be tutoring seniors on a one-on-one basis in the well equipped computer labs at the schools.
The courses will run for six weeks and are free to participants.
The schools are proud to partner with Council in this project to develop strong links with seniors in the local community.
This project creates the space and opportunity for intergenerational dialogue by bringing together young people with peope over the age of 65.
As the students impart their computer skills, participants have the opportunity to connect with students and share their life experiences and knowledge.
The classes will be held at each of the schools at various times. Monday classes will be held at Ascham School; Thursday classes at Kincoppal Rose Bay; and Friday classes at The Scots College.

Seniors are invited to take part in this rare opportunity to learn about photography in this free four-week course.

The Library’s 55+ Club – monthly event
The Woollahra Library & Information Service has a new program exclusive for people aged 55+. The 55+ Club will involve exclusive viewings of new books before they hit the shelf, plenty of chats and cups of tea! The 55+ Club is also a great opportunity to get help with the computer or discuss world events with like-minded residents.
The 55+ club will meet on a monthly basis at the following locations and times:
Watsons Bay Library – third Wednesday of each month – next meeting 16 March from 11am – 12 noon.
Paddington Library – first Wednesday of each month – starts 2 March from 11am – 12 noon.
