Ziggy’s Barber Salon – eclectic chairs
Ziggy’s Barber Salon has blown into the Sydney scene amongst a kaleidoscope of vertical spaces graffitied with retro posters and an eclectic cast of hairdryer wielding, snappy snippers.
Hairdressing salons generally tend to be staid, boring places where one dives in and out harbouring incognito aspirations. Not so Ziggys’. Here, owners David Rosenberg and Bill Hammond, have created an experimental new concept barber shop that is not just a place that cares for your locks but a melting pot for community interaction.
Ziggy’s launch party reflected all of the above and it felt like MiSociety had happened into a whole series of backstage dressing rooms exploding with all the colour and characters from a full blown theatrical production.
Miro Kubicek, better known as Miro-House, was front, centre and back of house, eventing and securing proceedings whilst also wielding shots of Jamesons Whiskey out to guests. Miro-House is now delivering another cheeky addition to the ‘Miro empire’ by launching the brand into the world of blokey Haute Couture underwear.
Ziggy’s Barber Salon, Riley Street (just off Oxford Street) Darlinghurst is bold, brash and innovative – so naturally MiSociety loves the concept.
